December 1 – One Word

It is the start of Reverb10, an online project allowing participants to reflect on the year that has gone, in preparation for the year ahead.  I am really relishing the prospect of getting involved in this project both on a creative level but also on a personal level too, as there is often so little time to stop and reflect.

Today’s prompt it to pick one word that encapsulates the year 2010 for me.  My word is:

1 December - one word

 adjust/adapt

2010 has been a year of considerable change.  Change I would have never thought about or even have imagined, but here I am in the middle of it all, adjusting and adapting to it all.   It has not always been easy and a smooth ride, but it’s not about the falling down but how you get up that is important.

This year has definitely served as reminder that nothing stays the same forever.  I have journeyed outside of my comfort zones and have actually discovered some new things about myself, including seeing me venturing out in to the big wide world of the internet and exploring my creativity through this blog and my photography.

One year from today, what would I like the word to be that captures 2011 for me?

Growth

I would like to be able to see the journey I have journeyed and to see how I have grown as a person.

  1. Wow what a powerful post and I absolutely love your shot, how great you can see all that has changed in the last year, I have really enjoyed you sharing your photography.

  2. This reminds me of my word for 2010 which was “stretch.” I really love studying the buddhist idea of “impermanence,” which helps me mentally/emotionally adapt to change. Looking forward to your posts and I love the picture!

  3. What a perfect photo for the theme!!
