Newlands Corner

Newlands corner 02

A quiet stroll at Newlands Corner, a popular spot for a sunny Sunday afternoon.  It felt much warmer that 12 degrees than the car’s temperature gauge was displaying.  We sat like an old couple on one of the benches and watched the world go by.

Saturday afternoon tea

We had a delightful and thoroughly civilised afternoon with friends.  It’s been such a long time since we have had such a lovely time.  Life has been a little fraught and busy since the new year and at times it can be so easy to forget what normality feels like.

The plan was originally for me to make a cake for our afternoon tea, but some how I ran out of time.  (It seems that recently I have been running out of time a lot more frequently).

So this morning was all about hunting for something  delicious and tempting for our guests.

Afternoon tea 03

After much deliberation we settled for purchasing a Lemon and Blueberry Cake, a couple of Almond slices and a number of pieces of Rocky Road from the Butter and Cream Cakes stall in North Street Market.

Neglected

I have neglected my photography and my blog for a while.  It hasn’t been a conscious decision, life just got in the way.

Old rope 01

Work has been crazy and I should be spending my Sunday writing final project report which is due on Friday.  Instead I am trying to relax and recover on the sofa with a bit of Pinterest and a repeat of young Morse (Endeavour) from V+ box.
