Really getting into the festive preparations this year by visiting Christmas markets and fairs.
Found this gorgeous little stall on the bridge in Guildford selling this cute handmade knitted hats. I am exploring taking up knitting again, so was fascinated by these creation.
Then it was off up to Guildford Cathedral for their Christmas Winter Market & Fair. Here are some pictures from our visit.
A Christmas Cracker.
I found one solitary leaf on path this morning.
For an early taste of Christmas, we popped over to Secretts in Milford for their Food & Craft Fair (which runs until Sunday 17 November 2013).
Plently stalls ladden with delightful christmas ideas and scrummy treats on sale.
Christmas bunting and hand-craft sewing ephemera
Tempting turkish delight
Smelly cheese (my husband favourite stall)
This stall is much more me, and I couldn’t resit making a small purchase of their lovely guest soaps: Fresh Earth, Black Rice, Cinnamon, Safflower, Mangosteen and (the more traditional scent) Lavender.
These simple handmade wooden Christmas decortations are cute.
Spent a creative evening making candles for Christmas with a wonderful friend Michelle and a group of her friends.
A range of candle scents (slightly out of focus) to choose from .
Dried fruit including oranges and limes to be used to decorate pillar candles.
My soy wax candles (coloured red) in small white ramekins, with Christmas scent. This is the first time using soy wax. Soy wax is opaque in appearance (rather than translucent) and takes colour and scent better than paraffin-based wax.
These tea-cup candles were ones that Michelle has prepared/created earlier.
A wet High Streat in Guildford provide the setting for the Fleur De Lys Morris dancers.
After a long day in London at a conference I was involved with organising, I had a chance to walk back across Waterloo Bridge and grab this rather shaky night time capture of the London skyline with the London Eye in the distance.
