Macro Friday

It is New Year’s Eve and the house is full of life as we are all getting ready for tonight’s party.

Here is my shot for Macro Friday, which is hosted Laura at her blog Blogging from Bolivia

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!

Boxing Day sunrise

We were greeted by this glorious sunrise on Boxing day.   We had driven up late on Christmas Day evening and gone to bed very late after doing some of the preparations for Christmas dinner and wrapping the last of the presents.

Boxing Day morning 001

It was surprising to see how much snow was left. It often doesn not snow much on the Wirral, and when it does the snow tends to not to stay very long.

Macro Friday

It is already Christmas Eve and I am excited  and really looking forward to spending Christmas back home with my family.

This is my festive capture for this weeks Macro Friday at Blogging from Bolivia . Wishing you a very Merry Christmas to you all.

Christmas Decoration

December 23 – New Name

I am trying to wind down for the Christmas holidays, which means I am struggling to find time to sit and keep up with the Reverb10 prompts.  It’s really disappointing because I have really enjoyed the contributions by so many.

I have been following Festive 24 Things, which is an advent calendar with twist.  The calendar explores some of the useful and fun online resources.  Tagxedo, is one of the those resources highlighted recently this week.  Tagxedo enables you to create word clouds “with style”.  Here is my word cloud created from my blog.

Blog Heart 2010

Reverb10 prompt for today is:  Let’s meet again, for the first time. If you could introduce yourself to strangers by another name for just one day, what would it be and why?

Another difficult prompt, but only because I would have to narrow it down to one name.  My choice would be:

Angelina was my dad’s nickname for my mum.  Her name was Anne, but he affectionately called her Angelina especially in his cards he gave/sent to her.

December 20 – Beyond Avoidance

Another day affected by the weather, but at least I am home and now just waiting to see whether we have any further snow this evening.

19 December 03

Yesterday, as Anna and I were about to go and explore the snowy woods behind our house, we caught sight of a deer grazing  just at the back of our garden.  Unfortunately, despite trying to creep up on the animal, we were unable to capture a good picture of the deer.

19 December 02

In our excitement we ended up exploring the woodland for half an hour in very little than hoodie and t-shirt (me in the hoodie and Annie in the t-shirt).  Allowing me to capture these pictures.

Today’s prompt from Reverb10:  What should you have done this year but didn’t because you were too scared, worried, unsure, busy or otherwise deterred from doing? Will you do it?

At times I can be a procrastinator, but on the whole I have learnt just to get on with it.   When I haven’t done something, it’s because I haven’t really had the capacity (in terms of time or energy) or I haven’t wanted to.

December 18 – Try

Wrapping 02

It’s the last weekend for Christmas shopping, and we are practically snowed in.   Apart from a necessary journey to the train station, which was really scary, we have pretty much stayed indoors all day and have been wrapping presents this afternoon.

Wrapping 01

What do you want to try next year? Is there something you wanted to try in 2010? What happened when you did / didn’t go for it?

I wanted to try to make my own Christmas wreath this year, and I have just run out of time.   There are some beautiful Christmas Wreath Ideas on Channel 4’s  4Homes website.   I would love to create one of these for my front door next year.
